SENA Healthcare Services (“SENA Healthcare”) has launched the SENA Specialist Hospital Segamat this month, commissioning its first hospital and marking an important step in expanding access to private specialist healthcare in the southern state of Johor, Malaysia.
As the first and only private multidisciplinary hospital in the Segamat district, the hospital features 90 beds, including dedicated ICU and HDU units, and addresses a long-standing gap in specialist care for residents of Segamat and surrounding areas. By bringing comprehensive services closer to home, it ensures critical care availability for complex cases while reducing the need for long-distance travel.
The official opening ceremony was co-officiated by Yang Berhormat Tuan Ling Tian Soon, Representative of Menteri Besar Johor and Member of the Johor State Executive Council (EXCO) for Health & Environment along with Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Dr. Zaliha binti Mustafa, Member of Parliament for Sekijang. The commissioning of SENA Specialist Hospital Segamat marks an important step forward in strengthening Johor’s healthcare landscape and advancing Malaysia’s broader healthcare agenda. This facility enhances regional healthcare capacity by expanding access to specialist services outside major urban centres, supporting more timely diagnosis and treatment. It reflects the Government’s commitment to building a more resilient, inclusive healthcare system that delivers better outcomes for communities in smaller districts such as Segamat.

First hospital to launch under SENA Healthcare’s national roadmap
SENA Specialist Hospital Segamat marks the initiation of SENA Healthcare’s long-term roadmap to commission 12 multidisciplinary hospitals under different business models, aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery across Malaysia’s secondary cities and underserved communities.
