It’s been two-months since international humanitarian organisation World Vision Malaysia revealed Cantopop singer, songwriter and actor Pakho Chau 周柏豪 as its main 30-Hour Famine Ambassador. Team AFT takes a sneak peek at what’s coming up.
1/3 It’s our 25th birthday! 🥳🎂🎈 We wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for every one of our wonderful supporters. #EveryYouCounts #WorldVisionMalaysia25Years pic.twitter.com/kNxzmz2rmM— World Vision Malaysia (@WorldVisionMsia) March 31, 2022
World Vision Malaysia launched its 25th anniversary celebrations on 30th March 2022, paying tribute to the collective power of individuals in changing lives of over 150,000 children worldwide. Malaysians from all walks of life have made an impact in the lives of marginalised communities across the Asia Pacific region, giving them access to education, basic healthcare and nutrition, clean water and child protection systems.

World Vision’s focus has always been the sustained well-being of children. We are grateful to the more than 100,000 Malaysians who have come alongside us to battle the myriad of socio-economic challenges faced by vulnerable communities worldwide. The varied and individual contributions from Malaysians from different walks of life, all ages and all strata of society help change lives substantially. Truly, Every YOU Counts.— Philip Koh, Founding Chair of World Vision Malaysia

World Vision Malaysia launched various initiatives, one of it, the innovative Digital Pixel Art, where participants create pixel art in the name of human kindness. The digital collage depicts how collective individuals can contribute to helping children or, in the name of the phrase, “Every YOU counts”. Donors could also purchase limited edition collectibles to commemorate the quadranscentennial anniversary, specially designed by two other World Vision Malaysia Ambassadors – Malaysian film actress and pop singer, Lee Sinje 李心潔 and acclaimed illustrator Nelson Lip, who is also a World Vision Malaysia Changemaker.
The 30-Hour Famine is World Vision Malaysia’s flagship advocacy campaign that first kicked off in 1997. It returns with a choice of online, in-person or hybrid mode for participants, with the slogan “Future Starts with You(th)!” and Pakho Chau as its Ambassador.
Participants of The 30-Hour Famine raise funds by fasting for 30 hours. Children and families can opt for the shorter 8-Hour Famine. The 30-Hour Famine will culminate in a celebration on 16th September 2022 on Malaysia Day and registration starts here: 30hourfamine.my.
